Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry Beijing Conference Held in Beijing

       On May 6, 2018, the Beijing Conference of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held in Beijing. The official representatives of the meeting were: Dr. Rohitha Silva, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (the first chairman of APTA CCI), Mr. Shafquat Haider, Chairman of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Bodhisattwa Mukherjee, Co-Director of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and Ajith D Perera, Chairman of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka Mr. Armil Samoon, Director of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the China Private Economics International Cooperation Chamber of Commerce, Wang Yanguo, Executive Vice President of the China International Public Relations Association, Secretary-General Zhao Dali, and Senior Consultant of South Asian Affairs of the China Private Economy International Cooperation Chamber, Hui Huimin.

       The meeting was held in four phases. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wang Yanguo and served as a welcome speech to the host country.

       In his welcoming speech, Wang Yanguo first thanked the Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Mr. Ajid for proposing and coordinating the organization of other six chambers of commerce and industry associations, advocating the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and receiving the support of the United Nations. It is a great honour for the China Private Economy International Cooperation Chamber of Commerce and its Chinese partners to support and participate in this multilateral cooperation mechanism aimed at serving industrial and commercial organizations and enterprises in the Asia-Pacific countries. It also feels the need to take responsibility. I hope that "with the same people, with the people of the road to seek"; also willing to "work for a common cause, to pay for a better future." He pointed out that the China Private Economy International Cooperation Chamber of Commerce, as the Chinese signatory of the Constitution of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is willing to work with organizations including the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China International Public Relations Association to achieve the objectives set forth in the Constitution of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Unremitting efforts and tasks; welcome the responsibility of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Beijing, China; and strive to contribute to building an Asia-Pacific open economy, stabilizing and promoting global economic development.

       Mr. Ajid, Executive Chairman of the Sri Lankan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, introduced the relevant situation of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Rohitha Silva (Sp. Sri Lanka President designated the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Mr. Shafquat Haider, President of Bangladesh Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Bodhisattwa Mukherjee, Chairman of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Executive Vice President of the China International Public Relations Association, and Secretary-General Zhao Dali, on behalf of the President of the China International Public Relations Association and the former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Wu Hongbo, congratulated the meeting and believed that the Asia-Pacific Chamber of Commerce and Industry It will vigorously promote the process of economic globalization and promote the participation of private enterprises in the "One Belt, One Road" international cooperation.

       Mr. Ajid, Executive Chairman of the Sri Lankan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presided over the reading, reviewing the charter stage, discussing the establishment of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry and funding projects and discussing the next steps.

       Representatives of the delegates took turns and carefully read and discussed all the articles; they seriously discussed the establishment and funding of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters, and Mr. Bodhisattwa Mukherjee (India Chamber of Commerce) made a proposal to establish a rotating office, President Wang Yanguo made A proposal to welcome the Permanent Headquarters of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Beijing, China, and to provide an overview, main functions, fund implementation, and current work from the basic basis, main reasons, and the proposed establishment of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry Headquarters in the central area of Beijing. The preparations for the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry Headquarters were detailed in detail.

       In the discussion of the next stage of work, the recommendations of the “Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement Chamber of Commerce and Industry 2018-2019 Work Plan” by the Chairman of the Sri Lankan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ajith D Perera and Chairman Wang Yanguo, were reviewed.

       The meeting successfully completed the various agendas.
