In the first seven months, China’s participation in the national trade with the Belt and Road increased by 11.3%.

        According to the statistics of the Customs, the total import and export volume of China from January to July was 16.72 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year; of which 8.89 trillion yuan was exported, an increase of 5%; and imports were 7.83 trillion yuan, an increase. 12.9%; the surplus was 1.07 trillion yuan, narrowing by 30.6%. In the month of July, China’s total import and export volume was 2.60 trillion yuan, an increase of 12.5%.

       The person in charge of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce said that since the beginning of this year, China's import and export has achieved rapid growth, the structure has been continuously optimized, the power conversion has been accelerated, the quality and efficiency have been further improved, and the development of foreign trade has been steadily improving. The main highlights are as follows:

       The scale of import and export has reached a record high. From January to July this year, China's import and export volume reached 16.72 trillion yuan (2.61 trillion US dollars), the highest level in the same period. From an international comparison, according to the latest import and export data of 30 major economies published by the World Trade Organization in the first half of the year, China's import and export growth rate is 3.8 percentage points higher than the average growth rate of major economies.

       The structure is further optimized. The international market is more diversified. While consolidating traditional markets such as the US, Europe and Japan, the import and export of emerging markets has achieved rapid growth. The growth rate of trade with the BRICS countries and the “Belt and Road” countries has reached 12.4% and 11.3% respectively. . The domestic regional layout is more balanced. The import and export of the central and western regions increased by 15.0%, which was 6.4 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate, and the proportion increased by 0.9 percentage points to 15.6%. The commodity structure was further optimized, and the export of mechanical and electrical products increased by 6.8%, accounting for 1.0 percentage point to 58.3%. Among them, exports of automobiles, mobile phones, computers and other products increased by 17.9%, 8.9% and 5.2% respectively. The business entities developed together, and the export of private enterprises increased by 7.6%, accounting for 1.2 percentage points to 47.7%, and continued to maintain the position of the largest export business. The trade pattern was further optimized, and the general trade import and export increased by 12.7%, accounting for 2.1 percentage points to 58.9%.

       Power conversion is accelerated. The business environment for the development of new foreign trade formats has been continuously improved. On the basis of two consecutive years of rapid growth, cross-border e-commerce and market procurement trade have continued to maintain rapid growth this year and become a new bright spot for foreign trade growth. The independent innovation and brand building capabilities of foreign trade enterprises have been continuously enhanced, and the endogenous power of foreign trade development has been increasingly strengthened.

       The quality benefits are further improved. The quality, grade and added value of export commodities increased. From January to July, the added value of exports of mechanical and electrical products such as computers and motors was further increased, and the export unit price increased by 11.7% and 6.8% respectively. In the first half of the year, China's import link tax revenue was 997.4 billion yuan, an increase of 8.9%, accounting for 10.9% of China's total tax revenue.

       "Since this year, the world economy and trade have warmed up, and the domestic economy has stabilized and the trend has continued to consolidate, providing a strong support for China's foreign trade development," said the head of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce.
